JANUARY 2023 ^ ASHLEY REMINGTON
Ashley joined the YMCA team in the fall of 2022 and has already become an MVP player! As the Director of Membership and Marketing, she works with new, current, and prospective members. Her positive attitude and kind spirit touch many each day. In December, and most of January, she was responsible for covering front desk shifts, as well as hiring and training new member services team members. Ashley goes above and beyond and is always willing to pitch in to help other departments with projects and events. She has a lot of new and innovative ideas and the initiative to implement them. The YMCA would like to give a BIG thumbs up to this amazing employee! Kylie Brown has been our Director of Before and After School Care for 15 years. Her bright spirit blesses so many children in our community! Recently, Kylie wrote a childcare grant for the YMCA and was awarded over $500,000 to go toward remodeling the Y Care kitchen and for new playground equipment. Kylie is exactly the kind of team player that every association wants on their staff. Thank you, Kylie, for your hard work and dedication!

Kerri has RALLIED as our Tennis Director for almost 6 years and as an instructor for 11 years. For the past two years, she has also managed rentals at the Hazel Keene Lodge at the Christensen Family YMCA Camp. Kerri SMASHES goals and always puts a positive SPIN on situations. She enjoys VOLLEYING new ideas on how to improve the facility. Most importantly, she has taught me all the tennis lingo so I could use it in this post! Thank you, Kerri, for being a STAR!

Angie tirelessly runs the Sidner Ice Arena PLUS runs Summer Day Camp at the Christensen Family YMCA Camp. This year was especially challenging as the Ice Arena stayed open during the summer, so she ran both programs simultaneously. Her work ethic, can-do attitude, and integrity make her an integral player on the YMCA team. Thank you, Angie, for all that you do for our Y community!

Cooper has been a stud since day one and is always coming in to see how else he can help. On the day we had a late opening in the winter, he came in to open the wellness center at the hospital so that our healthcare heroes could be rewarded. Coop has also stepped up on holidays and other much needed times. He also put together the opening checklist that staff use today to open wellness in the morning. Thank you, Cooper, for all that you do for our Y community!

JANUARY 2022 ^ ANDREW FELLERS
The YMCA would like to recognize Andrew Fellers for his commitment to making our Y community STRONG! Andrew has been working in the Hazel Keene Wellness Center for almost a year now. He is always willing to assist guests, members, and staff with any task. Multiple times he has gone out of his way to help in setting up basketball tournaments, In addition, he works as a building supervisor and fills in with shifts at the hospital wellness center. The Fremont Family YMCA would like to recognize and thank Shane Ahrens for his devotion to the YMCA community! Shane started coaching the FAST swim team at the YMCA IN the summer of 2019. In the fall of 2019, he began coaching THE Silver group, ages 8-16. He also works at the Dodge County Extension Office full time. He has shown not only his excellent coaching skills but his caring and patience with his swimmers since he has been at the YMCA. He takes on any task, large or small, with a smile and a positive attitude. The YMCA is very lucky that he moved to Fremont with his wife Shea in 2018, and blessed us with his swimming knowledge and expertise.
APRIL 2022 ^ MIRANDA LONG
Miranda Radke Long is the Aquatics Director at the Fremont Family YMCA as of February 2022. Before that, she was the assistant director at the Dillon Family Aquatics Center. Her duties include organizing and supervising swim lessons, training lifeguards, aquatic exercise classes, and much, much more. During February and March, Miranda oversaw several large swim meets at the Dillon Aquatic Center including the four-day GPAC college conference meet, the Heartland Conference high school meet, the YMCA state swim meet, and the Midwestern Swim Championships. She spent countless hours, preparing, supervising, and making sure they all went off without a hitch. Miranda loves what she does and it shows by always a friendly smile and the time and effort she puts into everything she does. Thank you so much, Miranda, from all of us at the Fremont Family YMCA.

We would like to recognize Ronda Stieren's outstanding work at, and devotion to, the Fremont Family YMCA! Ronda has been with the YMCA daycare team for 18 years. She is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed and loves being hands-on with the kids. Ronda plays a big role in our daycare as the assistant director and is very diligent with her work on the food program and Title XX paperwork. We can count on her for anything and everything! Her dedication and commitment to the YMCA and their families are very much appreciated.

Javonte is the site director at JCAC’s after-school program and the Y is also lucky enough to have him in his first year as the daycare preschool teacher! Joe works full time for the Fremont Police Department, and on his days off, he drives bus routes for the YMCA's Before/After School Care Program. He inspects the bus before and after each route and always keeps up on all maintenance. He is committed to the safety and wellbeing of the children he transports, as well as our community overall. Joe is responsible, trustworthy, and dependable. He has worked at the YMCA since November 2019. We are blessed to have Joe as part of our YMCA community!

The YMCA would like to thank Jill Waller for her devotion to our childcare program. Jill is the cook for Y-Care, which can be a very demanding job. She, at different times of the year, feeds up to 200 children and 24 staff. Although her main focus is in the kitchen, she is always willing to help out wherever needed. She is a very dedicated and hard worker and takes pride in her work. Jill is a person that can always be counted on to leave in charge and know that everything will be taken care of. She is a valuable asset to the Y-Care and to the Y. Thank you, Jill, for being an integral part of our Y community!

The Fremont Family YMCA would like to thank Wellness Center employee, Morgan Benjamin, for his commitment to our YMCA community! Morgan has repeatedly worked extra shifts when asked of him, and a majority of the time worked them solo. When the Wellness Center is short-staffed, Morgan is someone who not only works the desk but also actively cleans and does laundry. Morgan always greets members and has a very good rapport with all. This fall Morgan helped referee our NFL Flag Football program and he currently teaches a Queenax Class at 4:30 on Tuesdays! Morgan is an appreciated team player! Thank you, Morgan!

The YMCA would like to thank employee, Jim Cope, for his service and dedication to the Y community! Jim started at the Y in 2011 as a referee for youth basketball. Since then he has added being a referee for our youth volleyball and adult flag football (3 seasons). Last year he started leading our Little Tykes program for preschoolers and summer pick-up sports program for kids. Always ready to help when we are in a pinch, he has given tours of the facility to new members too. Jim's versatility and kind heart are a blessing to the Y. Thank you, Jim!

Requita has been a rock star as we have navigated the uncharted issues posed by COVID - the facility closing, emergency child care, cancellations of programs, and many more. Requita has taken on new challenges and roles with a beautiful smile on her face. Requita brings a bright, energetic personality to our front desk. Through the ups and downs of customer service and through the unknowns during this pandemic, Requita has gone above and beyond! We are truly blessed to have her as an employee!

Mallory has worked at the FFYMCA for almost a year in our Before and After School program, in our Wellness Center, and in the Summer Fun Club kitchen. She is very dependable and always willing to chip in whenever and wherever necessary. Mallory has really embraced keeping the Y clean and safe for our members in the Wellness Center, especially during COVID. She knows which machines members like to use and is diligent in keeping them clean. Some of our older members with walking canes can't carry the spray bottle and towel, so Mallory will go and clean off the machine for them. Thank you, Mallory, for going above and beyond to make our community a better place for members and staff! We appreciate you!

The Fremont Family YMCA would like to thank group fitness instructor, Christy Conrad, for her dedication to the Y, and for her POSITIVITY! Christy has been a fitness instructor for the past 22 years and currently teaches BODYPUMP, Spin, Kickboxing, and Barre classes. During the time the YMCA was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, Christy taped workout videos in her basement and posted them on the YMCA's YouTube Channel so our members had access to classes from their homes. When we re-opened, Christy volunteered her time to work in the Wellness Center until we had enough staff to cover all of the shifts. Christy goes above and beyond to make our YMCA STRONG. Thank you, Christy! We are so proud to have you as part of our YMCA COMMUNITY.

Congratulations to Andra Berhow, the July YMCA Employee of the Month! Andra has worked in the Y-care since January 2017. She is an amazing worker who shows a lot of pride in her work. She is very dependable, kind, and hard-working. Andra works with 3-year-olds, which is a very spirited group, full of personality and energy. She is involved with Pyramid Training, which is a three-year program directly working with a coach to further develop skills in working with children. The Fremont Family YMCA is proud to have Jayden Kumm as part of our community! Jayden is one of the awesome employees who work in the Hazel Keene Wellness Center. He goes above and beyond with everything he does. He is welcoming and kind to our members. When we started offering fitness classes via Zoom, he became the technical advisor who set up for the early morning classes. He works hard to keep the YMCA clean and safe for all. You will see his smiling face during the 5am shift, which takes an extra special person to wake up that early! Thank you, Jayden!

The YMCA would like to recognize one of our many amazing front desk staff! Stephanie Matsumura started working at the YMCA at the beginning of 2020, right before COVID-19 hit. She has been willing to adapt to additional duties and changes during this difficult time and truly has made a difference at the front desk with members, nonmembers, parents, kids, and guests. She knows all of our Y kids and parents by name and is kind in her interactions with everyone. Stephanie is very reliable and trustworthy. The Fremont Family YMCA would like to recognize Andrea Neahous for her kindheartedness and dedication to caring for kids at the Y. Andrea (AKA “Moana”) has been working at the YMCA since August 2017. She is our site director for the Before & After School program at Howard Elementary. On top of that, she is currently student teaching there, so she is in the school building from 6 AM-6 PM! Her kind, sweet, compassionate personality makes it easy for kids to love her! Thank you, Andrea, for being a part of our YMCA community!

Cathy Ross has worked at the YMCA for over 40 years, helping with several different programs and working in a multitude of areas of the Y. Cathy currently spends most of her time at the Y in the Dillon Family Aquatics Center. She works at the front desk, kindly helping people with a big smile! She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is very gracious about covering open shifts. She is an assistant coach for the Special Olympics swim team, where she helps teach over 15 swimmers twice per week. The kids all LOVE Cathy as a coach. Cathy leads the CPR and Lifeguarding certification classes, which is a big help to consistently add staff to our aquatics team. The YMCA would like to recognize Ashley Schlieker, one of our many outstanding child care staff members. Ashley does an amazing job working with the 4 & 5-year-olds in Y Care. She is willing to go anywhere she is needed, and often helps when the Y needs extra staff to cover a shift. In addition, she recently enrolled in college to study Early Childhood Education in order to enhance her skills.
